Ford Australia has revealed a range of new high-performance six-cylinder and V8-powered muscle sedans and utes based on its recently launched FG Falcon. Two different engines are available: an entry-level 4.0L turbocharged straight-six with 415hp (310kW) on tap and a 5.4L ‘Boss’ V8 with a generous 422hp (315kW) on offer.

The line-up of vehicles includes the F6 Ute, Pursuit and Super Pursuit Utes, the F6 sedan and GT, GT-P and GT-E luxury models. All models come standard with cross-drilled and ventilated Brembo brakes, front, side and curtain airbags and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).

The new 4.0L turbo in the F6 models delivers a peak output of 415hp (310kW) at 5,500rpm and a V8-beating 565Nm of torque between 1,950 and 5,200rpm. V8 fans have also been catered for with the 5.4L Boss engine delivering 422hp (315kW) and 551Nm of torque.

Powertrain improvements for the F6 include a new strengthened piston and conrod assembly and a complete re-calibration of the ECU. Changes to the Boss V8 include new camshaft timing and a new camshaft profile, an increased compression ratio, a twin plate throttle body and manifold plus a higher rev-limit.

Transmission options include a ZF six-speed auto or a new Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual (the same unit used by the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette).
