This is the Audi R8 GT, a hardcore version of the popular German sports car! What is so special about this new version of the R8? Well, first of all we have a weight reduction of 100 kilograms (220.46 lb), which means the car weighs only 1,525 kilograms (3,362.05 lb).
MTM has unveiled the insane, street-legal Audi R8 GT3-2.
Like the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni, the GT3-2 ditches all-wheel drive for rear-wheel drive. Elsewhere, the company installed a differential lock, an adjustable sports suspension, an improved braking system, aerodynamic carbon fiber body parts (front spoiler, side skirts and rear wing), and 20-inch forged wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx GT (or Michelin Cup Sport) tires.
The Audi R8 V10 has been named the 2010 World Performance Car of the Year.
Selected by a field of 59 jurors, from 25 countries, the R8 beat the Ferrari California and the Porsche 911 GT3. The jurors were impressed with the car’s reasonable price, dynamic chassis and powerful 5.2-liter V10 engine with 386 kW (525 hp / 532 PS) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque.
The Abt R8 GT R is on its way to the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. This supercar is of course based on the Audi R8 V10 but with a few performance enhancements. Only 25 units will be produced.
“The R8 GT R is an uncompromising racing car for the road, and provides maximum performance,” says company founder Christian Abt.
The German aftermarket specialist Prior-Design has released a stunning visual-improving program for the renowned Audi R8 supercar. Amazingly challenging, the newly designed custom dress fits perfectly the powerful sports machine and further emphasize its prodigious visual and driving qualities.
For the front end, the designers at Prior have developed a discreet spoiler with middle fin and two flat openings, and re-engineered car hood with additional carbon inlets.
